Stay Curious™ Summer Art Camp

Stay Curious™ Summer Art Camp is designed to take your child on a poetic journey of self-expression. In a small group setting (no more than 6 children per camp), we will explore each of the following themes over the course of the week:

  • HUMAN ANATOMY
Discover how our bodies enable different modes of communication, self-discovery and understanding.

  • UNIVERSE
Gain insights into our place in the universe — bigness and smallness.

  • DREAMS
Learn to listen to our dreams and allowing them to fully participate in our life.

  • NATURE
Explore our relationship with the others living creatures on earth. What does that mean to be of nature?

Integrative activities include creative movement, drawing and painting, poetry, outdoor play, relaxation and visualization exercises. This thoughtful, expressive summer arts camp aims to enhance your child’s physical wisdom, confidence to express their authentic selves, and celebration of their whole person.

Camp Session Schedule

Session 1

JUNE 10 – 14
for 6–7 yrs. old

FULL DAY
8:30 AM– 4:30 PM

Six to seven years old children start to be more attentive to realism as they step in to more analytic observations, learning how to read and write. Supporting these new steps in their ability to shape their world, while welcoming mistakes and encouraging spontaneity in their expressions, is key to their development. The activities of the camp sustain the vastness of the imagination, the complexity of feelings, while grounding their representation and expression.

Session 2

JUNE 24 – 28
for 8–10 yrs. old

FULL DAY
8:30 AM– 4:30 PM

Eight to ten years old is an important development phase for self-esteem and confidence. Children at this age begin to take new steps toward independence and self-evaluation. In this camp we use the arts to support and enhance the child’s unique expression and to help them present and share their singular selves and gifts with others. We also practice responding to other children’s work and expressions: How do I welcome the other with no judgment but with care and respect? How do I welcome myself and my expressions with kindness and courage?

Session 3

JULY 8 – 12
for 11–14 yrs. old

FULL DAY
8:30 AM– 4:30 PM

Children between eleven to fourteen are going through a major transition physically, emotionally and mentally. They have the capacity for more mature thinking. Their sensitivity and physical growth are subject to rapid changes. Expressive arts help children reflect the complexity of this period by encouraging dialogue, expressions through imagery and deeper understanding of body language while promoting a healthy self image. The arts are the perfect soil to encourage the blossoming of a “new” emerging identity, keeping the child steady and flexible through this time of change.

Session 4

JULY 22 – 26
for 4–5 yrs. old

HALF DAY
8:30 AM– 12:30 PM

At the age of four and five years old, your child is improving fine motor skills, developing vocabulary and the ability to construct longer sentences. Movement, drawing and verbal expression are the perfect tools to help your child integrate their cognitive skills, express their feelings, and increase their body awareness in their surroundings.
